South Florida Boat Diving Sites - Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach

Serving South Florida divers since 1976 Welcome to the best diving in the United States. The local dive sites described below are all included in a strip of ocean less than a mile wide and fifty miles long. This list by no means includes even half of the great diving we have to offer but it is enough for the visiting or local boater to get a good start. The list favors the Western (inside) edge of the reefs but don't forget the top and outside fingers can be beautiful and productive.

Because of our usually light but sometimes screaming current, drift diving is the most popular way to explore the reefs. Simply drop a buddy team on a location with a sturdy float and flag. The helmsman follows the flag until the team surfaces. Repeat. Three divers can each get in two dives with only three drops. It is not a good idea to try to anchor on the reefs. Beside being destructive, it's too easy for a team to get lost and be unable to return to the boat against the current.

Mooring Buoys are very convenient. Run a line through the buoy loop and cleat it off. Dive, relax and enjoy the day. You'll soon discover why living and diving here is so wonderful.
