Take the intro to Technical Diving Workshop with John Chatterton and Alec Hutchinson

July 21-23, 2017

This course is specifically designed for recreational divers are curious about what technical diving equipment, strategies, and planning are all about. In this 3-day course you will get familiar with technical diving equipment and tech diving specific planning. You will learn situational awareness, self-awareness, buoyancy and trim, and communications underwater. This is the perfect opportunity to test out what tech equipment is best suited for you before going out to purchase your own. Once you get through the classroom session and pool dive, we will take you out to see some sweet wrecks like the Captain Dan and others (70-foot- 100-feet max), so you can see how the equipment does in the open ocean. All our dives will be No Decompression wreck dives. Participants who complete the Workshop will receive the TDI Intro to Technical Diving certification.

Course cost: $800 per course includes everything


  • Open Water Diver or equivalent
  • At least 25 logged dives.
  • Enriched Air (Nitrox) certification, though this can be conducted concurrently with Intro to Tech for an additional fee.
