This revolutionary diver communication buoy works with the Garmin dive ecosystem, enabling topside crew members to monitor and track their dive groups — as well as exchange preset messages with divers wearing a compatible dive computer1 paired with a Descent™ T2 transceiver. Networked divers can also see their distance and direction to the buoy for return-to-base reference.
SUBWAVE™ SONAR NETWORK CAN SUPPORT UP TO EIGHT DIVERS2
EXCHANGE PRESET MESSAGES VIA THE GARMIN DIVE™ SMARTPHONE APP1
MONITOR TANK PRESSURES, DEPTHS, DIVER DISTANCES AND MORE2
NETWORKED DIVERS CAN VIEW THEIR DISTANCE AND DIRECTION TO THE BUOY2
ONCE THEY’VE SURFACED, DIVERS CAN REVIEW HEATMAPS OF WHERE THEY EXPLORED
POWER A FULL DAY OF DIVING WITH UP TO 15 HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE
Surface crew can monitor divers equipped with compatible dive computers paired with Descent T2 transceivers to keep track of tank pressures, depths of the divers and more. Automatic alerts can let topside crew know if there’s an issue with tanks or depth ranges below2.
Via the Garmin Dive smart-device app, topside crew can exchange preset messages with the networked Descent™ dive computers below, alerting divers if there’s a situation they need to know about. The Descent S1 buoy also extends the range of diver-to-diver messaging1.
Viewers at the surface can track the approximate range to each diver in the SubWave sonar network, up to 100 meters away from the Descent S1 buoy2.
Divers in the network can see the distances and directions back to the Descent S1 buoy, giving them clear return-to-base reference and increased situational awareness1.
After surfacing, networked divers can review their underwater heatmaps on the Garmin Dive smartphone app to see approximately where they were exploring.
The sturdy, compact 2-lb buoy is impact-resistant and water-rated IPX8 to 10 meters.
The rechargeable lithium battery gives up to 15 hours of battery life, letting you dive longer between recharges.
Wi-Fi® technology wirelessly connects the buoy to the Garmin Dive smart-device app within a range of up to 60 meters.
On the surface, multiple satellite systems (GPS and GLONASS) aid signal reception in challenging environments.
