Erojacks Artificial Reef

There are a few great dives spots just south of Fort Lauderdale in the towns of Dania Beach and Hollywood Beach. Here at these sites you can enter the water, swim out about 100 yards and be on a reef. A favorite among divers is the Erojacks Artificial Reef, this site is location just north of the Dania Beach Pier. It's a little but of a walk so make sure to wear booties in the hot sand. What makes this site so special, it's just like a child's toys, 4ft high concrete "jacks" were placed in this area to control beach erosion. The jacks are stacked and run from 100 yards to the first reef line from east to west in 10-25 ft of water. Because this site is located within John Lloyd State Park, no spearfishing or lobster harvesting allowed.

YellowBrick Road Beach Dive

Another favorite is a site called YellowBrick Road which is directly in front of the Margaritaville Resort in Hollywood Beach, between Johnson & Michigan Streets. It's a short surface swim, so we suggest you line up the lifeguard station and swim out on the surface for 200 meters. Look down and to the north, and at this site you will see a path of cinderblocks "yellowbrick road" which attracts critters to this dive site. The depth range is 15-25ft and the "yellowbrick road" goes perpendicular to shore.

Note, all parking in these towns are metered or there are parking garages, so make sure to pay the meter or download the PayByPhone App. To dive these sites, contact Force-E Pompano Beach or Force-E Fort Lauderdale for more information.
