Stop, Breath, Think, then Act.
Stop, Breath, Think, then Act.
Who doesn’t love the Manatee? This marine mammal gets the nick name “gentle giant” because they are slow moving, big (weighing in over 800 lbs), and they are friendly with humans. Just looking at photos of them you instantly want to meet them.
Through a shimmering mass of silver baitfish, a dark shadow slowly emerges. A huge, turned down mouth and burly, speckled brown body glides slowly forward. A thick, rounded tail fin sways back and forth in long, languid strokes. A gentle giant is approaching. This is a Goliath Grouper, and its story, once melancholy, is finally emerging from the dark.
Every day at Force-E we receive emails, phone calls and in-person visits from both locals and vacationers. Divers request information about dive sites, need help fixing their gear, or even ask how the weather forecast will effect diving conditions. Since Force-E opened in 1976, customers have trusted our knowledge and advice. We’re happy to help you in the shop, but our staff are eager to go one step further. We can join you underwater as a private guide!
During our dive, we often see marine animals like fish, eels, lobster and rays. We may even encounter dolphins swimming alongside the boat, or Goliath Grouper gathered around a wreck. Occasionally, we spot a seahorse or an octopus nestled under the Blue Heron Bridge, one of our favorite shore diving spots. Sometimes, however, divers meet an animal even more rare (and much larger) as they drift over the reef. If you have observed a bull shark cruising along in the sea, consider yourself lucky!
