Spend more time hunting and less time measuring with this easy-to-use lobster gauge. This non-corrosive, plastic lobster gauge is easy to attach to your lobster tickle stick or snare, and its high-visibility yellow is a cinch to spot underwater or at the bottom of a crowded dive bag.
Florida regulations state that your lobsters must have a carapace length greater than 3 inches. Place the leading measuring edge of the tool between the rostral horns and see if the trailing edge slides over the carapace. With a 3-1/16 inch gap, if the gauge doesn't fit over the carapace, it's larger than 3 inches and your lobster is legal.
